What kind of an emergency would take out every McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Subways? I mean really? Come on! If that were to happen, chances are you'd be dead. What kind of an emergency would prevent you from driving an extra 5 minutes to the nearest fast food restaurant?

I lived through Hurricane Andrew--remember that?--and it was no big deal. We had no electricity or running water, not even a roof on most of the house. We just drove a few extra minutes to have breakfast lunch and dinner at any of the fast food restaurants that were opened.

If you've lived through a disaster you are more than aware that emergency preparedness simply drains the cash reserves you will need following the disaster. It's all just a bunch of silliness.
